Favorite Boston locations for Maternity photoshoots
One of the most common questions I get from clients is “What location do you suggest for our maternity photoshoot?” which makes total sense – as a professional photographer I know what factors to take into consideration, what to avoid, and how to create the most beautiful scenario for your photo session.
For my Boston maternity clients, I almost always suggest doing the photoshoot right at their homes! With gorgeous brownstones lining quiet residential streets, there is an opportunity to document your story in a place that goes back hundreds of years, and to document YOUR part of that story!
Not only do we have the inside of your home (it’s incredible what we can do with *any* home to make it look special, and to document where your little one’s life began!) but we also have the outside, and invariably a nearby park or other green space.
We also can incorporate other special locations that tend to be just a few minute walk or drive in a place like Boston, where everything is closer than it appears. There are special spots on the Freedom Trail, the Charles River, historical buildings, and more.
This is an example of a maternity session held in the middle of Boston, and that not only incorporates the home where this precious life began, but also their family pet, and the backdrop of busy Boston!

Of course, this principle of using your home as the location for your maternity session applies anywhere! It’s part of your story! And even if you don’t plan on staying there, it’s the place where your little one was first loved.
Every photoshoot location is special, and is part of our planning as we discuss your vision an hopes for your very special maternity photoshoot!
