That is why capturing the first days of your baby’s life is so important. The memories that a newborn photoshoot captures are priceless and will stay with you for years to come. As a newborn photographer in Boston and surrounding areas, I can help you capture the beauty and innocence of those first days in the comfort of your home or my studio. From the moment your baby is born, their unique features are already on full display and will only last for a limited amount of time. What to expect during a newborn photoshoot

We offer two types of sessions. The Lifestyle Session is held at your home and is more documentary in style, as I photograph you in your home, interacting and participating in activities such as changing the baby’s diaper, giving her a bath etc.The other session is a Studio Session which is more “posed” photography taking place in my Specialized Newborn Studio (3 minutes from Rt-24 new exit 24/old exit 15). Payment of the session fee books your spot on the schedule. This session is booked tentatively based on the due date, so we would book it for [project] Project date at [project-dates] Project start time, and then adjust it based on when the baby actually arrives. For studio sessions, each session is custom styled to be unique to my clients, providing props, backgrounds, wraps etc. for home sessions we will be working with what you have in your home as well as one or two things I can bring with me

Tips for preparing for a successful shoot

Choose your location – As I mentioned, we can hold the session at your home, or in the studio.
Think about clothing – If you are holding the session in your home, try to dress the baby in something simple and comfortable. A onesie or a light wrap can be great options. Avoid distracting patterns and bold colors as they may take away from the focus of the shoot – your newborn! I also have a Client Closet available, both for your home, and for the studio.
Relax and Have Fun – The best photos come when everyone is relaxed and having fun! We will take breaks when needed and enjoy the moment with your little one
Choose the Right Photographer – Find a professional photographer who specializes in newborn photography. They should be experienced, and trained in newborn safety, like me and have a portfolio that you can look through to get an idea of their style. A good photographer will be able to capture your little one’s unique personality and bring out their special qualities in the pictures.

The best time to schedule a shoot

Sessions are usually held around 5-14-ish days old. I have found right around 6 days old (avoiding the 7-10 day growth spurt when babies sleep patterns can be disrupted by unusual crankiness and cluster feeding!) is an ideal time – baby is still curled up and super sleepy. However, any time up until 1 month old works!
