One of the best parts of being a North Shore MA baby photographer is capturing families as they grow. I first met Sabrina and Skyler when they were expecting, photographing their maternity session in Gloucester, MA. When their baby arrived, I had the joy of capturing two sessions—one at just 6 days old, during peak fall colors, and another at 2 months old – both in their home in Salem, NH, which is right on the border of MA.

Baby arrived! It’s such a fabulous things to tell a story, and to watch it unfold. Seriously. These mama/baby and daddy/baby bonds are one of the most precious things on earth.

A Cozy Newborn Session at 6 Days Old

Newborn sessions in the first few days are so special. At just 6 days old, their baby was in that sweet, sleepy phase, perfect for capturing tiny fingers, delicate lashes, and those precious newborn snuggles. With New England’s fall foliage at its peak, we stepped outside to take advantage of the vibrant autumn colors, adding a warm, seasonal touch to their gallery.

Lifestyle newborn sessions like this are all about documenting real moments—soft kisses, gentle cuddles, and the deep love new parents have for their little one. These first days pass by in a blur, but through photos, they can relive them forever.

A 2-Month Session Full of Personality

Fast forward two months, and what a difference! Their baby was more alert, expressive, and engaging, making this session feel completely different. Many parents think that if they miss the early newborn window, they’ve missed their chance at professional baby photos—but that’s not true!
At 2 months old, babies start making eye contact, reacting to voices, and even smiling, which adds a whole new dynamic to the photos. Capturing this stage allowed us to showcase all those emerging expressions and the deep bond between parents and baby. Looks at those smiles and even a yawn in the last few photos. I just love it!
